I have not received an order confirmation, what should I do?

Especially during high demand periods, order confirmations can take up to 24 hours. If you have not received your order confirmation after that time frame, please contact us at with your enquiry. 

Can I change my order once I have placed it?

No, once you place your order, it’s final.If you forgot to add an item to your cart, but already checked out, simply place a new order. 

Why don't you accept my currency?

Right now we're able to show  five major global currencies to give you a sense of how our prices convert into other currencies. However, the checkout will be displayed in South African Rand (ZAR). We're working to implement a new payment system that will allow us to accept not only different currencies, but also dozens of different regional payment systems. 

I'm an international customer (outside South Africa) 

Items shipped outside of South Africa may be subject to import duties, taxes and/or charges which are not included in the total cost of your order, nor will they be covered or reimbursed by Melanin Skin Food.

African Black Soap 

Our African Black Soap is produced in Ghana under the highest hygiene and security standards. Melanin Skin Food partners with local producers that empower women, give back to the community and act according to the global fair trade standards.   

Where do you produce your goodies?

We strictly source and produce all of our products from and within Africa.

 The majority of our ingredients, such as the Shea Butter, are  sourced from Ghana

 We have partnered with one of the top factories and labs in Johannesburg and that's where all of the magic happens. All of the ingredients are mixed and packaged in the factory in Johannesburg under the highest hygiene and security standards. 

 While we are currently partnering with a third party factory, it is our goal within the next 3 years to have our own factory.

Are your products tested on animals? 

No never! 

We would never let an animal suffer! 

How do you know then if it would burn in my eye or be gentle enough for your skin? 

We test that in the labs on other variables, which are more costly but for us well worth it. And of course all of our products further have been tested intensely by family and friends before hitting our online store.

Do you use chemical ingredients in your products?

No, only pure natural African ingredients. 

The core of Melanin Skin Food is based on the belief that you do not need cheap chemical ingredients in your cosmetic products. Hence we only use pure, natural ingredients, which African nature delivers to us. 

 How does this affect the shelf live/ durability? 

 In order to extend the shelf-live of our products, we are using plant-derived ingredients. No parabens. No sulfates or other harmful fillers.
